Attn: Members of the Irish American Club

As most of you know Old Shawnee Days is fast approaching. At the same time this year the Irish Club, German Club, Belgian Club, and the Sister Cities group themselves will be honoring the 25th Anniversary of the Sister Cities Organization.

Our club members voted in April to put together a float for the Old Shawnee Days parade being held on Saturday, June 7th at 10AM. More details on where to meet if you would like to be on the float parade day later. We will be gathering at Mike and Denise Shannon's one evening the week before the parade to get this float put together. We need volunteers for this project. Projected build date is Monday, June the 2nd around 4:30PM. Please contact me if you can help (913) 645-.3975. Date and time are subject to change.

On Monday, June the 9th our club will be hosting a reception at the Court of Appeals Pub from 7PM until we get done. We will be providing an old-fashioned home-cooked meal and Bob Reeder will be performing. Once again, our friends from Ireland will be joining us for this event. If anyone wishes to donate to the dinner menu, please contact JoAnn at (913) 963-4225. Menu provided upon request! We are asking that you RSVP for this event by June the 5th. Also, as Irish Club Members we have been invited to several other gatherings during this week-long celebration:

1) Sister Cities is at Kites' on Thursday, June 5th from 6-8PM. Please RSVP to Patti at (913) 262-5242 by June 2nd.

2) The German American Club is at the Shawnee Civic Centre on Wednesday, June 11th from 6-8PM. Please RSVP to Kathy at (913) 631-6811 by June 2nd. The German Club will also be holding their monthly meeting at this time.
